This allows you to continuously control your point of focus without losing momentum in your session.ДЄuto Focus Point Expansion. Just press the AF point button with your thumb (the little round button, furthest to the right on the back of the 7D) and move the wheel to change your focus point. As with any of these modes, you can move your focus point while looking through the viewfinder. You can get precise and accurate focus, although you donвЂ™t have to be as concerned about some movement in your subject. You just move the square where you want your image to be focused. Although this is the second option on your screen, it is probably the most widely understood mode by EOS users. Although this gives you the ability to focus on a very tiny and precise area of the scene, it is not good for moving subjects because the area of focus is just so small. This is the most precise option and excellent for macro photography,В the top of a newbornвЂ™s head or the вЂring shotвЂ™ at a wedding. This setting is much like the one I will explain next, but as you can see, thereвЂ™s a focus point within the focus point on the screen display. With this mode, you choose the focus point for pin point precision. This is a totally new feature available on the 7D.

So now IвЂ™m back to looking at FastRawViewer again! The free Beta testing period is over, so IвЂ™ll have to pay $14.99 to use for longer than 30 days. Now, I can set it to preview the actual RAW data, but that slows it down so much (3-8 seconds between photos) that itвЂ™s actually faster to use Lightroom! But, unfortunately, it views the jpeg preview, which is so highly compressed that it is almost worthless for judging critical sharpness at 100% zoom. Now this would not be a problem if FastStone read the data from the RAW file. DNG files are already so large, (20-30 MB each) that they implement some extremely high jpeg compression for the built in previews. Lightroom seems to have a bit of an issue with PentaxвЂ™s. However, I have a problem with it nowвЂ¦ I upgraded from my Canon Rebel T3, to a Pentax K-5 DSLR, which shoots RAW files in either. I guess itвЂ™s been about exactly a year since the last post on this thread! IвЂ™ve used Fast Stone Image Viewer for probably 95% of all my photo viewing, and IвЂ™m still happy with it!
